On September 24th at 6:00 p.m., the facilities of the Royal Reforma Hotel in Mexico City hosted an important strategic meeting between Eng. Eduardo Medina Gironzini, President of the Latin America and Caribbean Radiation Protection Federation (FRALC), and our CEO, Brian Oliva.
During this meeting, Eng. Medina Gironzini enthusiastically confirmed the official participation of FRALC in our summit. While analyzing the current landscape of the industry, he shared his vast experience, highlighting a key point: except for the forums held in Brazil, no integrative event of this magnitude and commercial focus has taken place in the rest of the Latin American region.
One of the central and most enriching axes of the conversation was the analysis of the public perception of the industry. Both fully agreed that assertive communication and outreach are non-negotiable pillars to achieve the deployment of nuclear technology in our countries. The conclusion was clear: without social acceptance, governments face a high political cost, which leads them to hesitate in proposing nuclear technology development plans or, alternatively, prefer to keep their projects completely discreet.
To break this paradigm, the President of FRALC extended a valuable invitation for us to actively collaborate on joint outreach strategies. He also provided invaluable recommendations that will substantially strengthen the structure and scope of our forum.
Having the vision and institutional support of FRALC solidifies the commitment of the Nuclear Summit & Expo LATAM to build an informed, safe, and highly professional ecosystem for the future of the region.
